tempi di indagine (times of inquiry) – thesis project
I’ve analized radical projects from the 60’s and the 70’s: first the Archigram
Magazine and the Plug-In-City; then the Column Discorsi per Immagini (Speech by
Images) in Domus 481/1969. I’ve found interesting the different “time of
research and design”: the acceptance of contemporaneity and of
technical/social/political progress to build scenarios, hypothetical tomorrows,
by the Archigram; the use of projects and images instead of 70’s critics to
the Capital (the project in a metahistorical position, but clearly referred to
the present), by Archizoom and Superstudio, in the column Discorsi per
immagini. Nowadays we look back to the radical experience and to the Archigram;
I try to find these two “waves” (the two times of research) into contemporary
graphic design.
